Swansea Rock School is a 5 day course designed to give each student the ‘rock & roll’ experience. Our aim is to help all students to shine through as talented and creative individuals, building their confidence and expressing their own personalities through the medium of music!

There are two main themes to the course:

  • Performance
  • Composition
    • Our aim is for the students to progress in the following areas;

      • songwriting – both in a group and as individuals
      • technical ability on their instrument / vocal skills
      • rehearsal productivity
      • performance skills
      • listening and progressing ideas
      • vocal range
      • understanding of rhythm/time keeping and pitch
      • appreciation of different musical genres
      • team work
        • Over the five day experience, each student will work in a band with other musicians, learn to play and perform tracks by their favourite artists, write their own original material and at the end take part in the live ‘Swansea Rock School Gig’ at the Waterfront Community Church SA1. Here the bands will perform their material from the week, including their own compositions, to an audience of family, friends and fans.
