What equipment do the students need to bring?

All students will need to bring their own instruments each day:
Guitarists & bassists: should bring an electric guitar with strap and lead and if possible a small practice amplifier. They may also bring an electro-acoustic guitar – whether this will be used depends on the cover songs they will be performing in their respective bands.
Drummers: A full drum kit is provided, so drummers will just need to bring their sticks; although they are welcome to bring their own pedals/cymbals if they wish.

What about sound equipment? Swansea Rock School has a full professional P.A. system with outboard, monitoring and microphones

What should the students wear? Loose, comfortable clothing and shoes in which they can safely move around and perform (i.e. girls - save the high heels for the live performance!).

Anything else they need to bring? Just a notepad and pen to make notes / jot down lyric ideas etc. They can also bring drinks & snacks if they like.

What age stduents can enrol? Swansea Rock School is open to musicians aged 10 – 17 yrs.
Do the students need to be very experienced? No - Swansea Rock School is suitable for beginners / intermediates onwards – there is NO NEED to be advanced, but students should have had some previous musical tuition. The drummers need to be intermediate onwards.

Are the tutors CRB checked?
Yes - ALL Swansea Rock School tutors have full enhanced CRB checks.

Do you have child protection / health & safety policies etc? Yes - Swansea Rock School has full Child Protection, Equal Opportunities & Health & Safety policies, all of which are available for inspection on request.

Anything else important to know? Yes...R.E.S.P.E.C.T…..find out what it means to me (well, all of us!)…as musicians we are all passionate about our craft. However, we are all here to play music and have fun! We ask at all times that everyone involved in Swansea Rock School - staff & students alike - are respectful and courteous to each other.
